This article doesn’t cover much of the critical issues around what is essentially a version of Amazon. IME Superbuy is the Fawlty Towers of logistics.
Instructions (check box) to keep the original shipping container to avoid them repacking, are routinely ignored. Not only shipping boxes but also product boxes are thrown away when products are received, leading to oversize homemade packaging causing problems for shipping. On the other hand, shipping containers which should be discarded are also left on.
One worthwhile thing is that you can have a video of packing for CNY 5 which will show you how they work, what state your items are in, and in several cases for me, why there’s a problem with the shipment.
They managed to take a week correcting oversize measurements which prevented me from shipping – they regularly exaggerate sizes, more than double in one case, and sometimes weights – then another 4 days during which they did nothing about packing, followed by packing twice in a carton too big for the courier, and a third attempt when they got it right. After that, the cheaper courier wasn’t an option so I’m hoping it arrives by DHL (3-5 days on their website; note working days) around 3 weeks after I first tried to send it.
If you don’t tell them weight and size restrictions of the courier, they’ll oversize it and ask you to use a different courier. Every problem they create, and there are many, requires hours in a chat queue which constantly throws you out, to resolve with their CS staff. Some of whom manage to cause even more problems. I have spent half a day waiting on Chat for them for around a week now, and finally got the large package boxed and shipped last night. But no sign that DHL has yet picked it up, almost 24 hours later.
They told me that because they ship quite a lot, busy couriers come once a day. Less busy ones come every few days, and your package isn’t a reason for them to collect. So factor in a few days waiting for the courier.
If you use Superbuy, expect it to take way longer than they suggest, and cost a lot more. Their website is usable but a mess and takes a while to find your way round. My warehouse is where most of the useful information about your purchases is stored.
