I have found that some taobao sellers list their items in English so they show up when you search taobao using english words, however the products returned often have heavily inflated prices. If you know the Chinese name for an item, search using the Chinese instead – I’ve found google translate to work quite well for single words and for multiple words its about 80% accurate. Searching using model numbers also works very well, especially for electronic components.
