Please note: it is practically impossible to open an account with Taobao. The page refuses to recognise the name on my bank account. Previously, I had tried to use Taobao, but I had entered an email address and phone number, but stopped the process before entering a password. When I tried to complete that registration, it was requesting my password evern though I didn’t have one. This was not possible for them to resolve, even with a month of email exchanges. The registration pages are all seriously flawed; it’s so easy to get blocked, and issues cannot be resolved. The only recourse is to ask friends to order things for you. It appears that, despite the positive ‘too easy’ attitude evidenced on this page, this is not functioning as it should be at all.
